MANILA, Philippines—Stephen Holt missed arguably the biggest shot for Ginebra in its Game 4 loss to Northport in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup semifinals.
But if you ask last season’s league Rookie of the Year, that one miss didn’t define the Gin Kings’ 108-103 loss at the hands of the Batang Pier.
It wouldn’t have hurt if he made it, though.

MANILA, Philippines—With their backs against the wall, Arvin Tolentino and the Northport Batang Pier found a way to stay alive against Barangay Ginebra in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup semifinals.
Tolentino and Northport trounced Ginebra, 108-103, in Game 4, finally getting on the board in a best-of-seven series that has been largely one-sided in favor of the Gin Kings.
Down 0-3 after Sunday, Tolentino had emphasized the need for his team to just :find a way” and they did just that on Wednesday.

NorthPort put the brooms out of the way and prevented Barangay Ginebra from marching into the Finals with a 108-103 victory Wednesday in Game 4 of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Import Kadeem Jack had another strong showing, but this time got plenty of help as the Batang Pier stopped the crowd-favorite Gin Kings from completing a sweep of the series that was one-sided in the previous three matches.
Arvin Tolentino fell short of a triple-double, William Navarro and Joshua Munzon also stepped up while Paolo Taha made the most of his role as a starter to key NorthPort’s win.

- Better start for NorthPort in Game 4 as it least Ginebra 9-8 midway through the opening quarter.

MANILA, Philippines—There’s no better time for Ginebra’s second unit to step up to the plate than in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup semifinals.
That’s exactly what the Gin Kings’ bench has done as the crowd favorites zoomed to a 3-0 series lead over No. 1 seed NorthPort in their best-of-seven clash.
Coach Tim Cone has certainly made it a point to acknowledge the efforts of his bench pieces in the squad’s mission of reaching the PBA Finals for the second straight conference.

Caelan Tiongson has finally come out of his shell and provided the nudge Rain or Shine needed to get on board its semifinal series with powerhouse TNT in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
A seasoned veteran on the international scene, the do-it-all sophomore put up 18 points, seven rebounds and four assists in Game 3 last Sunday—all while clamping down on the Tropang Giga’s resident import Rondae Hollis-Jefferson that helped in a 103-98 victory.
That great two-way performance was also a triumph in itself for the 32-year-old forward, considering where he was at this stage of the playoffs against the very same foe last tournament.
