    1. Introduction and Main Features

Axis Neural EA for MT5 is an Expert Advisor designed for the MetaTrader 5 platform, ready to trade multiple currency pairs simultaneously. In its default settings, it operates with:

    • EUR/USD (Euro vs. US Dollar)
    • GBP/USD (British Pound vs. US Dollar)
    • AUD/USD (Australian Dollar vs. US Dollar)

    Axis’s Goal and Philosophy

    1. Strategy based on Moving Averages, Bollinger Bands, and Neural Networks
The system combines four Moving Averages (MAs) from different timeframes with a neural network filter. Thus, linear patterns (identified by the MAs) and non-linear patterns (detected by the neural network) merge to produce more reliable signals.

    2. The Bollinger Bands act as a filter to assess whether the market is overbought or oversold, and to avoid excessively extreme entries.

    3. Recovering Trades That Move Against You
If the price goes in the opposite direction of the initial entry, Axis applies a pyramidal structure (grid/martingale) to try to “recover” the position.

    Activating on a Single Chart

    • To start using Axis, simply drag the EA onto one single MetaTrader 5 chart.
    • Even if you only see one pair on the screen, the system will open and manage trades on the three default symbols.
    • Remember to enable the AutoTrading option so that Axis can automatically open and close trades.

    2. Automatic Timeframe and Customization

When you drag Axis onto a chart, the Expert Advisor automatically adjusts the timeframe based on its predefined internal parameters. This setting aims to optimize performance without requiring the user to manually select a timeframe.

    • Manual timeframe change: If you prefer to experiment with other timeframes (e.g., H1, H4, D1), you can change it directly in MetaTrader 5. However, please note that adjustments outside the original configuration should be tested using backtests and, if possible, forward tests to verify real effectiveness.
    • Avoid random changes: Each alteration in timeframe, moving averages, or neural network parameters can significantly affect results. It’s advised not to make modifications unless you’re sure of their impact on the system.

    3. Why These Three Symbols? (Correlation)

    USD Dependency

EUR/USD, GBP/USD, and AUD/USD share the US Dollar as a common denominator, generating notable correlations. This can provide diversification opportunities within the same “core” of assets, but it also implies a certain concentration of exposure to the USD.

    Pearson Correlations

During Axis’s development, correlations (and their absences) were analyzed using the Pearson coefficient to understand how these pairs interact over time. Although some traders are wary of concentrating too much risk in the Dollar, consistency tests and optimizations with these three pairs have shown robust and profitable results. If you’re looking for more information about how we selected these symbols, you can check the following link: https://www.mql5.com/en/blogs/post/760513

    Option to Change Pairs

    • You are not required to stick to EUR/USD, GBP/USD, and AUD/USD. You can edit the inputs to replace them with other symbols.
    • Before running Axis with different pairs, it’s advisable to carry out extensive backtests to ensure the system adapts well to those currencies.
    • Correlations are not static and may change over time. Therefore, future versions of Axis could include additional recommended symbols.

Can Axis be used on other symbols?

Yes, it’s possible to use Axis with other symbols, but you will need to optimize the Expert Advisor by adjusting its parameters accordingly. Axis is an adaptive EA, but the greater the change, the more optimization it will require. For example, the Forex market tends to be more range-bound, while gold and indices are often more trend-driven, and cryptocurrencies are typically far more volatile. Therefore, adapting Axis to these markets will likely require deeper optimization and testing to maintain consistent performance.

    4. Entry Logic: Moving Averages + Bollinger Bands + Neural Network

    Basic Rule with Moving Averages

Axis monitors four Moving Averages from different timeframes.

    • If the price is above these four MAs, a buy signal is generated.
    • If it is below, a sell signal is generated.

    Initial Bollinger Bands Filter

The second step is to check whether the trend has already gone too far, in which case we avoid entering the market to prevent trading in extreme conditions. This checks if the outer bands have been broken.

    Neural Network Filter

Even if the moving average rule is met, a position is not always opened. The EA’s neural network evaluates more complex market patterns and can dismiss certain entries with a high likelihood of failure, based on historical data and recent price behavior. This way, trades that meet the MA logic but are not statistically favorable are reduced.

    5. Exit Strategy and Trade Management (No Stop Loss)

    Closing by Target

When a trade moves in the predicted direction, Axis will close it once it reaches the configured Take Profit (TP). A traditional Stop Loss is not used, which can increase the win rate but also carries certain risks.

    Recovery in Case of Losses

When the price moves against the position, Axis opens additional trades at regular intervals defined by the Step parameter, progressively increasing the volume (multiplication coefficient). This system aims to average the entry and close all positions together when the market returns to a more favorable zone.

    Pyramidal Structure (Grid/Martingale)

    • If the price gradually moves against you, the series of buy or sell orders is “layered,” forming a kind of Grid.
    • The volume can increase, especially if the multiplier parameter is > 1, creating a martingale effect. If the price retraces, closing the set of orders typically yields an average profit.
    • It’s a risky strategy, since in prolonged adverse trends, the drawdown can surge.

    6. Broker Compatibility

    Symbol Names

Make sure that EUR/USD, GBP/USD, and AUD/USD match the names used by your broker. Some add suffixes like “.pro” or “.m.” In these cases, you must correctly configure those suffixes in the EA’s inputs.

    MarketWatch (CTRL+M)

Check the MarketWatch window to ensure the symbols you want to trade are displayed. If they are not visible, Axis cannot open or close trades on them.

    Recommended Account Type

To maximize effectiveness, it’s recommended to use ECN broker with RAW accounts, which typically offer tighter spreads and more competitive commissions compared to Standard or Market Maker accounts.

    7. Error Checking: Logs and Common Issues

If something does not work as expected, review the MetaTrader 5 logs (the “Journal” or “Experts” tab). Some common error messages include:

    • Incorrectly mapped symbols: the broker’s symbol names do not match the EA’s inputs.
    • Investor account instead of a real/master account: you cannot open trades on an investor account.
    • Spread too high: if the spread exceeds the set limit, Axis may refrain from trading.
    • AutoTrading disabled: make sure both the global platform button and the EA’s checkbox are active.
    • Unfavorable market conditions: the neural network may decide not to open trades for long periods if it detects a high failure probability.

    8. Can Axis Burn the Account?

Yes, like any system based on a Grid/Martingale, Axis could potentially deplete the account in extreme, long-lasting moves against the position. Therefore:

    • It is recommended to periodically monitor the drawdown.
    • Axis does not have a global Stop Loss; if the market trends strongly and does not revert, you may end up with very high floating losses.
    • The minimum balance suggested for the default setup (0.01 lots per symbol) is 1,500 USD (or equivalent).
    • Each user is responsible for deciding on a manual closure if the drawdown becomes excessive.

    9. On Marketing in Trading Systems

In many systems that use fixed Stop Loss and Take Profit, a high success rate is usually highlighted. However, just a few large losing trades can wipe out previous gains.

Marketing often omits or downplays these risks, creating the illusion of highly stable systems. Axis, however, does not use a traditional Stop Loss and follows a more controlled Grid/Martingale approach plus a neural network filter. It’s neither “better” nor “worse,” but rather reflects a different risk philosophy, with its own advantages and disadvantages.

    10. Choosing a Broker and Using a VPS

    Broker

    • Besides allowing automated trading, the ideal broker offers low spreads, low commissions, and fast execution (ECN or RAW accounts).
    • Avoid brokers with a conflict of interest (strict Market Makers) or very high variable spreads.

    VPS (Virtual Private Server)

    • A VPS is a remotely hosted server that is always on and connected to the internet, eliminating risks associated with power outages or disconnections on your personal PC.
    • Since some Axis trades can remain open for hours or days, a VPS ensures that the EA continues managing positions without interruption.

    11. CENT Accounts

For those with reduced initial capital, opening a “CENT” account can be a great alternative:

    • 1 dollar equals 100 “cents” (a virtual balance of 100).
    • It allows trading with 0.01 lot sizes, drastically reducing real monetary risk.
    • Although spreads may be slightly higher, it is a good way to test Axis’s strategy with more modest funds.

    12. Why Is Axis Better Than Our Expert Advisor Node (Free EA)?

    1. Diversification and Multi-Symbol
Node trades on a single symbol, while Axis handles three. This generates an internal diversification effect, where the profits from one pair can offset potential losses in another.

    2. More Advanced Neural Network
Axis’s Neural Network is more sophisticated, filtering signals more accurately and reducing false entries.

    3. Greater Stability and Recovery Capability
By operating multiple pairs and using an optimized recovery system, Axis shows superior robustness under changing market scenarios.

    13. Configuration Changes: Tips and Optimization Method

    • Axis comes with predefined settings based on extensive backtests.
    • Avoid random parameter changes. Any adjustment in Step, multiplier, timeframes, etc., should be done with a solid rationale and historical testing.

    Recommended Optimization Method

This is not a universal rule, but rather our own approach to optimization, which we follow as shown below:

    1. Optimize over 5 years: search for parameters that balance profitability, drawdown, and number of trades.
    2. 1-year forward period: check if those parameters work in the following year (out of sample) to avoid overfitting.

    14. Periodic Updates of Axis

Axis is a product in continuous evolution. Periodic updates may include:

    • New optimized parameters for current market conditions.
    • Improvements to the EA’s logic that refine how entries and exits are managed.
    • Changes in symbols or filters if the neural network detects different scenarios.

    Important:

    • Only update when you have no open trades, to avoid leaving ongoing positions “unmanaged” if the management logic changes.
    • Always read the release notes accompanying the new version, as they describe the most relevant changes and any associated risks or precautions.

    15. Fundamental News: Should You Stop Axis or Not?

Many traders wonder whether it is better to stop the EA during high-impact news events (NFP, interest rate decisions, etc.).

    • Personal approach: I do not stop it. Axis was trained and optimized on historical data that includes both news and non-news days, so keeping it active is part of its continuous logic.
    • Personal choice: If you believe certain news releases could cause excessive volatility, you are free to turn off the EA temporarily or reduce risk manually.

    16. User Support and Assistance

    Is there formal support?

Axis does not have a dedicated 24/7 support department. This document covers about 95% of the most common questions.

    Are all questions answered?

    • If your question is not addressed here, I will do my best to answer it.
    • If the question is already explained in this manual, repeated individual support will not be provided.

    Urgent Cases

Only those errors that prevent normal EA operation or major technical failures (e.g., a serious conflict with the MT5 platform) are considered urgent.

    Remote Review

In exceptional situations, remote assistance may be offered to check the setup. However, this only happens on rare occasions, when the instructions in this guide have not solved the issue.

    17. Axis User Group

A group or community space will be created where Axis users can:

    • Share experiences, customized settings, and results.
    • Exchange ideas on future optimizations.
    • Receive notifications about new versions or special market conditions.

Participation is voluntary but highly useful for those wanting to enrich their trading experience, learn from others, and contribute to Axis’s ongoing development.

    18. Why Are We Moving Toward Offering Our EAs Only as a Rental?

The future decision to offer Axis exclusively in a rental format is based on strategic and practical reasons:

    1. Lower barrier to entry
Previously, Axis was sold at a price that could be considered high for some traders. By introducing a rental option, more users can try it without a significant initial investment.

    2. Reducing user risk
If the system does not meet your expectations or you do not recover the investment, your loss is limited to the rental fee instead of a large, fixed cost.

    3. Ongoing developer commitment
Rental models require Axis to remain updated and performing optimally. If the EA ceases to be effective, users will simply not renew, creating a strong incentive to keep improving it.

Ultimately, this model ensures that Axis maintains its effectiveness and value over time because, if it fails to deliver, the user can discontinue its use without having made a permanent investment.

Note – Users who already purchased the product under a one-time purchase format do not need to worry; they will have unlimited use of the product even if we change the acquisition model.
