Honest Review of Quince Clothing: Is It Worth The Hype?

If you haven’t heard of Quince yet, let me introduce you to your new obsession. Quince is an online retailer that sells insanely high-quality clothing, shoes, and accessories at insanely low prices. Their entire mission is to create quality products (sustainably) and cut out the middleman cost by selling directly to consumers using a factory-direct model. So instead of buying their clothes from a factory, marking them up like other retailers, and then selling them at the prices you’re used to seeing, they sell the same goods without the usual expenses of a regular supply chain (like sourcing agents, warehousing, wholesaling, distribution, and storefront retail). I’m obsessed with Quince because they have fabrics like Mongolian cashmere, Italian leather, and organic cotton at prices I can’t find anywhere else. I’ve ordered a handful of things from Quince over the last 6 months, and I’m reviewing each piece below. Trust me, you’re going to want to place an order.

Everything I’ve Bought from Quince

As I mentioned, Quince carries more than just clothing. They have shoes, bags, jewelry, baby & kids stuff, and men’s items. I’ve tested their jeans, activewear, accessories, and even baby essentials for myself, and here’s a breakdown of my experience.

Quince Cashmere Sweaters

The Quince cashmere crewneck and v-neck sweaters are some of the best pieces in my wardrobe. They’re soft, lightweight, and made from Mongolian cashmere–and perfect for layering. I own them in an XS, and they have a comfortably loose fit. Despite regular wear (and I do wear them often), they haven’t pilled or gotten holes in them, which is impressive given the price tag. If you’re looking for luxe knits, Quince cashmere is a no-brainer. I can’t believe I was spending well over $100 before on cashmere sweaters that look (and feel!) identical to Quince.

Jeans

I bought the Stretch High Rise Kick Flare Jeans from Quince, and the fit is unbelievable! They actually remind me a lot of my Madewell jeans, both in terms of fit and quality, and those typically cost $100+. While Quince doesn’t offer a wide variety of styles or washes, their basic denim is worth the purchase, especially since one good pair of simple jeans will go so far in your closet. If you’re looking for classic, well-made jeans at an affordable price, these are a must-buy. The fit is true to size, has a nice stretch, and fits well on the booty. I’m 5’1″, so I bought the 26″ inseam.

Shoes

In my experience, Quince shoes run larger and wider than other brands. I usually wear a 6.5 or 7, and the 7 was too big in both pairs I tried (Water Repellent Suede Clog Mule and Italian Leather Horsebit Loafer). If you’re in between sizes, I’d suggest sizing down. The Italian leather on the loafers feels premium, and the suede clogs are very well made and don’t look like they’re a budget option. (They’re significantly nicer than the Amazon version of the Birkenstock dupes I purchased and subsequently returned.)

Activewear (Workout Tops and Shorts)

The workout tops (specifically the Essential Run Tee) and shorts (I tried the Micro Ripstop Mid-Rise Short) are made of soft, durable fabric with great color options. However, I found the tops to be longer than I preferred, and the shorts ran bigger than expected. I’d recommend sizing down or ordering your usual size if you prefer a looser fit. I haven’t tried the Quince leggings and sports bras yet, and those are next on my list – I love the bright blue color option they have right now!

Cashmere Gloves

Absolutely gorgeous. These Mongolian Cashmere Gloves are as nice as a pair I own that costs nearly $100.

Purses/Bags

I purchased this Italian Leather Convertible Crescent Handwoven Shoulder Bag from Quince, and it totally exceeded my expectations. The leather feels so nice, the zippers are sturdy, and the structure holds up well over time. If you’re looking for an affordable luxury handbag, this is a solid choice. I want to try this Italian Leather Handwoven Flap Crossbody for a summer purse. They also carry a ton of luggage options, and I’m thinking I’ll need to test out this Italian Leather Triple Compartment Weekender – you know, for research purposes.

Dresses

The quality of the Quince 100% Organic Cotton Poplin Smocked Midi Dress I bought is very similar to the Ellie Hill House Home dress that’s so popular (you can read my Hill House dress review here), but the price is much more affordable. The fit is great on top, but I did notice some pulling on the back near the glutes. I returned one for a larger size to see if that helps. Overall, it’s flattering and well-made. I do wish it had pockets, but for the price I won’t complain.

Swimsuits

In general, the Quince swimsuits are good quality with classic designs. However, neither of the two I ordered has as much compression as I’d like. I did keep the Italian Plunge Ribbed One-Piece Swimsuit since it was a little sexy but not too revealing (the best kind of swimsuit, in my opinion), but I returned the Italian Cami Ribbed One-Piece Swimsuit since it’s not nearly as good as my go-to La Blanca Island Goddess swimsuit. That one is also budget-friendly and much more flattering.

Baby Pajamas

The Bamboo Long Sleeve Pant Pajamas Set is super soft and adorable! However, they ran small. My baby is 12 months old and on the smaller side, yet the 12-18 month pajamas didn’t fit. I’d recommend sizing up.

Baby Sleep Sack

The Bamboo Sleep Bag is my absolute favorite sleep sack for the boys. It’s softer and cozier than others I’ve tried, and it holds up better in the wash than Kyte sleep sacks. Highly recommend!

Crib Sheets

I didn’t love the European Linen Fitted Crib Sheets since they felt a little rough. I ended up returning them and sticking with my go-to Solly sheets.

FAQs

Quince Quality

The quality is what sold me on Quince. I don’t love shopping at places like Old Navy or Target super often since the quality doesn’t hold up as well as the pricier brands I own, but Quince blows me away every time, and the prices are so much better than what I usually pay for similar items.

Quince Sizing

I have to say, Quince’s sizing isn’t quite as consistent, and it varies by category. For shoes, I’d recommend sizing down if you’re between sizes. For baby clothing, sizing up might be a good idea. Jeans, sweaters, and dresses tend to fit true to size, but if you’re curvier on the bottom, you may want to size up.

Return Policy

Quince has a hassle-free return policy, which makes trying out different sizes and styles easy. They offer free returns within 365 days, which is a huge plus.

Final Thoughts

Overall, Quince delivers on its promise of affordable luxury. The cashmere sweaters, jeans, and baby sleep sacks are standout purchases, while some pieces (like crib sheets and swimwear) may not work for everyone. If you’re looking for high-quality wardrobe staples without the premium price tag, Quince is definitely worth a try.
