Looking for a sweet and simple way to spread the love this Valentine’s Day? These Valentine’s pretzel hearts are the way to go – I make these pretzel hearts for most holidays, switching up the sprinkles or color for each occasion, but I LOVE busting out the pink sprinkles for February 14th the most!

I’ll walk you through the easiest way to make them with a few ingredients – plus four tips to make sure they melt hearts!

Whether you’re making these as a Valentine’s Day activity with your special person, whipping up a sweet treat for your gal-entine’s, or getting the kids involved in some cupid-inspired fun, these pretzel hearts are the perfect way to celebrate love day. I love how they’re simple yet playful to make and sweet and salty to eat. Plus, they make adorable gifts!

I’ve been making these for years, switching up the sprinkles to match different holidays, but there’s something extra special about the Valentine’s version. The chocolate-filled centers look just like little hearts, so they’re perfect for love day.

How to make Valentine’s pretzel hearts

Let’s be honest – we don’t need a specific day to celebrate love, but Valentine’s Day gives us the perfect excuse to do something cute! These Valentine’s pretzel hearts are easy – they’re no bake and ready in just minutes. This is how it’s done:

    1. Prep: Arrange the pretzels in a single layer on parchment paper on a baking sheet, then melt the wafers and coconut oil in the microwave until it’s melted.
    2. Drizzle: Use a spoon to scoop a bit of melted chocolate and drizzle it into the pretzels. Add any sprinkles you’d like to decorate them with.
    3. Cool and enjoy: Let the chocolate cool, then once it’s hardened, you can pack them up to give to your Valentine (or eat them!)

    Frequently Asked Questions

If you don’t find the answer you’re looking for here, you can ask it in the comments below, and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible!

Can I use milk or dark chocolate instead?

You can! They pair well with the salty crunch of the pretzels. You can omit the coconut oil if you use milk or dark chocolate.

    Is the coconut oil essential?

No, but it will help the white chocolate melt more smoothly, and it also helps make it easier to drizzle. You can also use a neutral-flavored oil such as avocado oil.

How long does it take the chocolate to set?

This will vary slightly depending on the brand of chocolate and the temperature of the room where you make them, but in general, anywhere from 5-10 minutes.

How do I store Valentine’s Day pretzels?

Store them in an airtight container on the counter at room temperature. They’ll last around a week.

Recipe video above. We make versions of these Valentine’s pretzel hearts for many holidays, switching up the sprinkles to match the occasion. But I especially enjoy them on February 14th as the chocolate filled pretzels look like hearts!

    Notes

Chocolate: You can also use dark or milk chocolate. Or add a drop of food coloring if you’d like pink chocolate.
Pretzels: I prefer the small bites of mini pretzels, but regular-sized pretzels work too. 1 cup = 40 grams or approximately 30 mini pretzels.
Coconut oil: Adding a little coconut oil to the white chocolate helps it to melt easier (white chocolate is notorious for seizing if it gets too hot) and makes it easier to pour into the pretzels. Use refined coconut oil if you don’t want a coconut flavor. Or you can opt for a neutral-flavored oil, such as avocado oil, but know that the chocolate will take longer to harden and will be a little softer.
