As we step into the new year, it’s natural to take a look back at the past one. For me, that usually means going through photos I took or albums I listened to on repeat, while reminiscing about the year’s trips, nights out with friends, and delicious meals. You know, essentially condensing the year into a mental movie reel.
Here at Food52, we like to do the same, but in a way that makes a little more sense for us—by taking a look at what our community—you all—loved most. We already pulled together the Top 10 Genius Recipes (Eric Kim’s Crispy Yangnyeom Chickpeas With Caramelized Honey being one of our favorites), so now it’s time to share some of the best-selling products from our Shop.
We looked at the numbers, parsed through the comments and ratings, and pulled together a comprehensive list of favorites. From a collapsible food tent to a Staub cocotte, here are the top 17 kitchen and home items you couldn’t get enough of.
1. A Picnic-Friendly Food Tent, $30+
“I love this tent. Honestly, and this might sound nuts, I got this mostly to protect foods I need to cool without fully covering where I’ve needed to avoid condensation falling into whatever I’m making. It’s worked perfectly for this purpose and I can see how great this would be for picnics, barbecues, and more as well.” – Jade D., 9/11/22
2. A Pasta Variety Pack, $32
“I love pasta and when Food52 came out with these pastas I thought it wouldn’t hurt to try them. It’s better than the pastas I usually buy at the grocery store. I can’t believe I’ve been missing out.” – Tippawan S., 10/23/22
3. A convenient spice grinder, $44.99
“So happy I discovered the Finamill. It was easy and effortless to use. It is a huge bonus that it looks beautiful on our kitchen counter. Highly recommend!” – Teresa T., 8/3/22
4. A Cotton Napkin Collection, $45
“The best napkins ever.” – Patricia O., 12/30/22
5. A set of stackable bodega glasses, $55+
“Fabulous glasses & perfect for so much! Plus, they don’t get knocked over as easily as stemmed glasses.” – Nancy O., 10/11/22
6. A Cheese Tasting Box, $60+
“This was a remarkable box of delicious-ness! Excellent variety of products and flavors. We loved every bite.” – Shannon T., 7/10/22
7. A vintage-Inspired kitchen mat, $63+
“This mat fits nicely in our new kitchen, and the design is really as good as it looks on the website! Our old mat soaked up so much splash over from the sink and got to be pretty foul, this seems to be just the solution because it’s super easy to clean. It stays put and doesn’t shift around during use. Also has a little give to it so your feet won’t get sore standing at the sink.” – Ian M., 11/4/22
8. A glassware set fit for a China cabinet, $68+
“Great feel in the hand. Refined, but they don’t feel like [they’ll] break with the first washing! Be prepared for a big swig out of these!” – Beth C., 8/20/22
9. A stackable saucepan, $72+
“I love this little saucepan. Beautiful wooden handle, multi-purpose lid and a great size. From melting butter, heating a bowl of soup and everything in between, it’s the pot I reach for more than any other.” – Suzanne S., 1/3/23
10. A French-Inspired Flatware Set, $80
“I’ve been eyeing this set for a while and I’m so happy I went ahead with purchasing this, although it runs on the more expensive side. The utensils have a great weight to them and the tortoise finish looks so elegant.” – Shifra S., 9/3/22
11. A shatterproof cake cloche, $80+
“Perfect for dressing up any dessert or cheese board. Cookies, croissants, brownies, cupcakes, small cakes, and pies all look elegant under this cloche. Safe for kids and never have to worry about it breaking or chipping!” – Nancy C., 1/1/23

16. A French Ceramic Fruit Bowl, $110+
“I have always loved Emile Henry products but seldom have the discretionary funds for such luxury. The Fruit Bowl was a birthday gift to myself and it does not disappoint! Elegant in design and very functional. Love that my root vegetables stay sprout-free for longer while staying out of sight; and who knew that cork keeps away fruit flies (well, obviously the French but it was news to me)! This piece is definitely a win-win in all areas! Nice to find it in sage green—most other [sites] only offered white or black.” – Donna S., 6/30/22

“I absolutely love my Staub cocotte, and think the color is beautiful! I got it in the color turmeric. it’s already been used several times for making soup and boiling pasta. Easy to clean and a beautiful addition to the kitchen.” – Molly H., 12/10/22
